About Seminole
Seminole is named for the Seminole people, whose descendants still lived in the area when settlers arrived in the 1840s. It's a relatively young city, incorporated in 1970, and grew quickly through annexations to about 19,000 residents by 2020.
The city covers the lower part of Lake Seminole's southern arm, and nearby County parks such as Boca Ciega Millennium Park and Walsingham Park sit along the bay and lake. Waterfront homes in the Seminole area face either the lake or Boca Ciega Bay.
Waterfront homes in Seminole
Many homes with Seminole addresses were built in the decades of fast growth after 1970. Lake-front walls see fresh water and smaller waves, while bay-facing walls deal with salt water and tides; the two need different attention.
