About Belleair Bluffs
Belleair Bluffs was founded around 1946–47 and incorporated in March 1963. It's one of the smaller cities in Pinellas, with about 2,300 residents in 2020, and roughly a quarter of its area is water.
The city sits at the mainland end of the Belleair Causeway, looking west across Clearwater Harbor to Belleair Beach on Sand Key. Its waterfront is a short stretch of harbor frontage rather than a network of canals.
The shoreline in Belleair Bluffs
Because the city dates from the late 1940s and grew in the following decades, many of its harbor-front walls are older than those in newer subdivisions to the north. The short frontage means fewer walls, but each faces open harbor water.
